Kate O’Neill, the former head of the University of New Mexico’s Taos campus, was tapped by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham to head up our state's Higher Education Department. Patrick Valdez, leading the Taos branch of UNM, has conducted research on the challenges and obstacles facing first-generation college students.
